Overview of Rock For Hunger Volunteer Opportunities

Food Sharing
Our food sharing in Downtown Orlando is the longest running program for Rock for Hunger. Come help serve the homeless and needy individuals with meals and more. We currently meet near the Panera on Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando every Monday at 6:45. Bring your friends, some canned foods and magnetic energy to bring to our crowd.

Tutors & Meals
Want to make a difference in a child’s future? Tutors and Meals is currently volunteering 5 days a week from 2pm - 6pm on Church St and Paramore in Downtown Orlando. Help the future of Orlando and curve poverty at its roots by assisting in basic reading, math and social skills. Contact us now for more information.

Concerts
Rock For Hunger wouldn't be Rock For Hunger without the support of local musicians and artists that are willing to get on the mic and help spread awareness. Every November we host Rock For Hunger Fest. On November 15th, 2008 we held our 3rd annual music festival at the Plaza Theatre in Downtown Orlando. We are currently looking for committee members and volunteers to help us with Rock For Hunger 4 along with other converts and activities throughout the year. Job and Lifestyle Training
Rock For Hunger is committed to solving the problems of poverty and homelessness and not just serve as a bandaid to a growing problem. The next step in our plan is to provide resources, training and opportunities to end the cycle of poverty. The job training initiative is to provide necessary steps to full time employment. This includes helping with resumes, obtaining identification, working with roadblocks like felonies, citizenship and other unforeseen obstacles as well as looking for job and career opportunities.

The lifestyle training involves helping the Central Florida poverty and homeless community with needs that include housing, support, rehabilitation, conversation and even bringing fun back into their lives through music and entertainment.

Volunteers for this committee must possess a desire to bring life back into these individuals and never take no for an answer. The power to overcome objectives and hardships is a necessity. Those looking to take the challenge are to contact Greg.

Office Work
We always need help with data entry. E-mails we collect at events, logging volunteer hours, and compiling a list of services available in the community for the needy. For more info, email us to set up time to complete office work for Rock for Hunger. This will usually be in Downtown Orlando, or can be done from home too.

Food Drives
Food is always a big need for Rock for Hunger. If you'd like to organize a food drive with your company, school, or organization, shoot us a line to receive the needed items list which lists all our needs to make meals for the needy.

Other Opportunities
Rock For Hunger is always looking for great volunteers of any age, skill set and background to help us with all of our objectives, programs, fundraising and awareness in the Central Florida area.
